An ice golem is a buildable and summonable neutral mob that attacks monsters by stabbing them with its arm and, rarely, summon a frost nova.

Spawning

Ice golems are either summoned, with a temporary lifespan, through Frostborn Focus, or build permanently through this mold:

The golem is loyal towards the player who right clicked on the central blue ice block with an Animation Core or summoned them through Frostborn Focus.

Behavior

A summoned ice golem will follow their summoner if its 10 blocks away from them unless put into Wandering or Standing By mode.

In Wandering mode, within 10 blocks of their summoner, or non-owned ice golem wanders aimlessly and tries to avoid water, obstacles and environmental hazards.

Ice golems can walk up a full block height without jumping and walk over a 1 block wide hole without falling in. Ice golems are immune to both drowning and fall damage. When in water, they sink, but can still move freely.

A summoned ice golem will never retaliate against their summoner, or other servants of said summoner, if attacked by them. Summoned golems will attack players or mobs that their summoner attacks, or those that injure their summoner unless the target has the same summoner or is on the same team.

Attacking

Ice golems attack their target by thrusting its arm at them in a stabbing motion.

Frost Nova

Ice golems have a 5% chance, 45% chance if surrounded by 4 or more targetable mobs, of emitting a frost nova, instead performing its regular attack, which deals an area of effect damage, pushing away mobs around it and giving them Freezing for 5 seconds.

Trivia

Ice golems can be healed by right-clicking on them with a , a or with the latter healing more hearts.

Ice golems that are spawned through spawn egg or commands will target hostile mobs like , and will retaliate when damaged.

Ice golems are based on from the Elder Scrolls series, specifically the Skyrim .
