Preachers are non-combative illagers that heal other illagers near them.
Preachers have a chance of spawning as part of an Illager Assault. They spawn if nearby players that have 6250 (by default) or more Soul Energy. The number of preachers that spawns near the player increases, the more soul energy the Player has.
Preachers will spawn in raids if at least one of the players participating in it has high enough Soul Energy. Preachers have a chance of spawning when an Evoker is spawned in the Raid, with the chance increasing based on the level of Bad Omen the player had when activating a Raid.
Preachers cannot attack in any capacity, and will follow any nearby raiders. When not following, they will wander around randomly, and will run away from players.
If a raider, that's not another preacher, not a tormentor, and not attacking the preacher, is injured near them, they will perform an animation and heal the raider for 6 health points (3 hearts). The amount healed can be configured under "preacherHeal" in goety-attributes.toml.
Preachers are based on Monks from the Age of Empires II.
As of now, preachers cannot convert any mobs.
Preachers are also based on the missionaries that took part of the Spanish and Portuguese 15th to 16th century conquests.
Preachers were originally light-colored, but was suggested to turn it to a darker color to fit the illagers more.
