The philosopher's mace is an endgame tool and weapon that can mine most blocks and self-repair using soul energy.

Obtaining

Philosopher's Maces are crafted using a Expert Nether Ritual.

Repairing

A philosopher's mace can be repaired on an anvil with dark metal ingots. They can also be repaired by combining two of the same type of items together in a crafting interface, or grindstone.

Usage

The mace can be enchanted with several weapon and tool enchantments. Its enchantability is configurable under "philosophersMaceEnchantability" in goety.toml, by default, it has enchantability value of 20.

Self-Repair

If the mace is in the player's hand or inventory, it will repair itself one durability every second, consuming the player's soul energy. The amount is specified under "itemsRepairSouls" in goety.toml. If the player does not have the specified amount of soul energy, the mace will not repair itself.

Mining

The philosopher's mace can mine blocks that are tagged under "mineable/pickaxe", "mineable/axe", "mineable/shovel" and "mineable/hoe" regardless of mining levels. The breaking time for the blocks are always quick.

When breaking a block with the words "nether_gold" within its id, it will drop raw gold instead of gold nuggets.

Weapon

The mace can be used as an effective weapon. Mobs or players that are hit with the mace will gain Gold Touched effect for 15 seconds, with the level increasing from the mace's Looting level.

The mace cannot perform sweeping attacks like swords.
