Nyctophobia is an effect that inflicts damage when in complete darkness.
If the affected entity is within a position that lacks light, they will take damage.
The amount of damage inflicted to the affected entity is shown in the table below:

Death is reported as "<player> died of fear". Amplifiers outside the range 0–31 (corresponding to levels 1–32) use modulo 32.
If "nyctophobiaCurable" under goety-brews.config is disabled, the effect cannot be removed with milk, or wartful eggs, and only until the duration runs out.

Crones have a chance of throwing a brew with the effect if their target doesn't have it and within a dark area.
Nyctophobia refers to extreme discomfort and fear of darkness.
The effect's icon represents a grue.
Due to damage immunity, the effective rate is 10 ticks ( × 1 per second) at levels 4 and up.
