A Cultist is a type of hostile mob that regularly spawns in Portal Outposts, Salvaged Forts, and Nether Shrines. All Cultists are hostile to players and attack mobs that hurt Witches.
Unlike Illagers, Cultists are not hostile towards Villagers. In Goety 1, they can convert Villagers into secret Cultist that transforms into a Cultist subtype, depending on the Villager's profession, when either sufficiently damaged or is in a Raid.
The mob attacks other mobs that attack Witches and vice versa.
Dead Mobs are neutral towards the mob. (exclusive to Goety 1)
The mob does not fight back when hit by a missed arrow shot by Zealots.
The mob does not fight back when hit by a missed arrow shot by a Piglins.
The mob can spawn on any valid opaque block if the block light level is less than or equal to 8.
In Goety 1, Cultists can be found in the Overworld within Portal Outposts, Salvaged Forts, and partaking in Raids whenever a Witch is spawned if the config is enabled.
Cultists can also be found in the Nether either in the Nether Shrines or in Pilgrimages.
In Goety 2, the only non-boss Cultist available is the Warlock, which can rarely spawn in dark areas much like Witches.
Currently exclusive to Goety 1, certain Cultists can summon reinforcement similar to Zombies in Hard Difficulty. Only Fanatics, Zealots, Disciples, Beldams and Channellers can summon reinforcements.
The summoned mobs can be a Fanatic, a Zealot, a Disciple, a Beldam or a Thug.
Cultists were inspired by the Crimson Cult from Thaumcraft.
Cultists were introduced initially in Fire N' Blood as a way for Players to obtain Soul Energy without gaining Infamy from killing Illagers or having to clear out Villagers.
Cultists used to spawn in groups during night time in Fire N' Blood before being restricted to structures and then being able to spawn in Raids or pilgrimages.
