Classification

Behavior

Hostile

Conquillagers are hostile illager mobs armed with crossbows that can spawn if the player has high enough Soul Energy. They attack by firing fireworks at the player and can spread a virulent effect called 'Illague'.

Spawning

Conquillagers spawn with a crossbow, that is enchanted with Piercing IV, on their main hand.

Illager Assault

Conquillagers have a chance of spawning as part of an Illager Assault. They spawn if nearby players that have 6250 (by default) or more soul energy. The number of Conquillagers that spawns near the player increases the more soul energy the player has.

Raids

Conquillagers will spawn in Raids if at least one of the players participating in it has high enough Soul Energy. Conquillagers have a chance of spawning when a Pillager is spawned in the Raid, with the chance increasing based on the level of Bad Omen the player had when activating a Raid.

Drops

  • 0 - 2 Emeralds if killed by the player, with the maximum increased by 1 with each level of looting.

  • 0 - 2 Gold Ingots if killed by the player, with the maximum increased by 1 with each level of looting.

  • 0 - 2 Cocoa Beans if killed by the player, with the maximum increased by 1 with each level of looting.

  • 0 - 2 Gunpowder if killed by the player, with the maximum increased by 1 with each level of looting.

  • 8.5% chance of dropping their weapon, which increases by 1% per level of Looting with random durability.

  • 20 experience when killed by a player, tamed wolf or servant.

Behavior

Conquillagers are hostile toward players, iron golems, adult villagers and wandering traders.

A Conquillager attacks similar to pillagers, except they shoot exclusively fireworks from their crossbows instead of arrows. They will not shoot their fireworks if there's a raider (ie. Illagers, Witches) within 5 blocks of the player, unless its them or a Tormentor.

If their target get within 16 Blocks near them, the Conquillager will attempt to back away much like Piglins.

Conquillagers will infect every non-raider and non-undead, within 8 Blocks from them, with Illague and constantly emits Illague particles despite not being infected themselves. Players and Villagers will get 5 minutes of Illague from them, while other mobs gets around 2 minutes instead.

Like Enviokers and Inquillagers , Conquillagers will seek out and pick up any dropped Totem of Undying or Totem of Souls. They can pick up two Totems if their offhand is empty, as any picked up Totem either goes on their offhand or in their internal inventory.

Trivia

  • Conquillager is the combination of the words 'Conquistador' and 'Illager'.

  • Conquillagers are based of Conquistadors from the Spanish and Portuguese 15th to 16th century conquests. Their outfits based on the Gabriel de la Cueva's Portrait.

  • Conquillagers spreading Illague is based on how the Spanish and Portuguese brought many diseases during their conquest of America.

  • Their usage of Fireworks instead of Arrows and their gunpowder drops are based on the usage of guns during the European conquest of America.

  • The Cocoa Beans drop is also a reference to the European conquest of the new world.

  • The Conquillagers can be seen as an elite version of Pillagers.
