A sculk converter is an artifice that spreads sculk using soul energy.
Sculk converters can be broken with a pickaxe or a hoe of any level. They don't need to be broken with Silk Touch to be mined unlike sculk catalysts.
When placed under a filled cursed cage, and activated with a redstone pulse, the sculk converter will absorb soul energy from the cage, 5 units unless the block is enchanted, and spread sculk around itself, similar to sculk catalysts.
If there's a sculk relay within 32x16x32 blocks of the converter, it will spread sculk on the relay's location instead. The converter will send particles towards the relay to signify which relay it's connected to. If the relay is broken, the converter will either find a new one within range or spread on itself.
Sculk converters can be enchanted with Potency, which will increase the sculk spread amount. The soul energy cost is doubled per enchantment level.
Sculk converters were introduced to provide a creative method of converting soul energy to experience points.
