Tools that are used to cast spells, command servants and other utilities related to the mod. They all have the ability to equip a Magic Focus.
There's only one wand within the mod, but there are several staffs that each increases the power of certain spells depending on its type.
The tools can perform certain spells depending on what focus is placed within it.
To place a focus inside the wand or staff, the player must hold the wand on their main or off hand and either opening the tool's container by pressing the Open Wand Focus Slot key (default: Z) or using the focus circle by pressing the Open Focus Circle key (default: X).
Most spells are cast by using right-click while holding a wand or staff with a focus equipped in it. The spell requires the user to have enough soul energy to be cast, which is indicated within the wand or focus tool tip under Soul Cost.
The tool can be used to change navigation modes of most servants or instantly kill them depending on how the tool is used.
If "ownerHitCommand" within goety-spells.toml is enabled, the player must punch the servant with the tool in order to perform commands, otherwise the player must right-click on them instead.
If the player is crouching, the servant will be instantly killed instead of changing modes.
Certain servants, like player spawned Vexes, can't be commanded or killed using the tool.
A dark wand is used to cast spells when a focus is placed within it.
As mentioned above, the wand can be used to cast spells, command servants and other utilities.
The wand provides no extra benefits when casting spells.
Staffs are specialize tools that improves certain spells depending on its type. Common improvements are, for example, summoning a larger number of servants per casting instead of one.
Staffs share the same function as the wand, but are more specialized on certain spell types. They still are able to cast other types of spells without any drawbacks.
Staffs can also be used as a melee weapon that does not use durability. Its damage is configurable under goety.toml.
