Items crafted using the Totem of Roots/Souls tend to use up a lot of resources, and not just . There is a way of getting said items without needing any extra materials to go with it, by placing an item into a Cursed Infuser.

The Cursed Infuser allows certain items to transform into a new one, said transformed item tends to be a crafting component for Focuses or other modded items or blocks. However, in order for it to work, it must be placed on top of a .

First, you gotta use your Totem to create the cursed metal ingots to create the Cage:

Now, one can simply find a monster spawner and place the Infuser there at once... or if one's willing to craft and an Empty Focus with a Totem, you can make yourself a Fire Spawn Cage.

The Empty Focus recipe can be found back in the page.

With this item, right click on the active spawner with it, which will cause it to 'absorb' it's inner fire, filling it and destroying the spawner in the process. If filled, right-clicking it on an empty , will turn it into a spawner of the same type, allowing you to effectively move spawners, provided you make Cursed Cages.
