Most items made of dark metal ingots can self-repair using the player's soul energy.
Dark Metal Ingots, its armor and tools, and their self-repairing properties, albeit through the use of soul energy, is based on and inspired by Thaumcraft's Void metal Ingots.
Dark Metal was created due to the mod author getting tired of getting their armor and tools broken and to give soul energy more uses.
