A rotting focus allows the player to summon zombie servants when equipped in a wand or staff.

Obtaining

Rotting focuses are crafted using a Necroturgy Ritual.

Spell

When equipped in a Wand or Staff, the player is able to summon a zombie servant after casting.

Casting with a Necro Staff will summon 2 - 5 zombie servants at once. The Nameless Staff will summon 7 zombie servants instead.

Zombie servants will spawn nearby the player, and will attempt to spawn on top of the nearest floor.

Casting while looking at a mob will cause the newly spawned servants to target it.

Summon Types

If the spell is cast in certain areas, other types of zombie servants can be summoned instead:

  • Casting at a desert biome, under an open sky, will summon husk servants.

  • Casting underwater will summon drowned servants. They will only be drowned servant if the position they're summoned at is in water.

  • Casting in the Nether will summon zombified piglin servants.

  • Casting in a Bastion Remnant will have a 25% chance of summoning a zombified piglin brute servants.

Summon Down

After summoning, the player will receive the Summon Down effect. Subsequent summoning while having the effect will increase the effect's level and resetting with an increased duration.

Having the summon down effect will cause newly summoned zombie servants to get Weakness and Sapped effects, with the level depending on the summon down's level.

Summon Limit

If player owns more than the summon limit of the mob, the zombie servants will quickly take 1/4 of their maximum health of damage.

Enchantments

Rotting focuses can be enchanted with Potency and Duration.

Potency will cause newly spawned zombie servants to get the Buff effect. The higher the level of Potency, the higher level of Buff it applies.

Duration causes newly spawned zombies to have a longer lifespan, assuming the caster isn't wearing a Necro or Nameless Crown.
