A spider nest is a block that can create cobwebs and, very rarely, spawn spiders.

Breaking

Spider nests, when placed, can only be obtained through silk touch. When broken without silk touch, it will drop from 4-8 strings.

Usage

Spider nests can be placed on a solid block on any orientation. It will break when pushed by a piston, of if it's no longer supported on a solid block.

Crafting Ingredient

A spider nest can be used to craft a warlock sash.

Cobwebs

Every random tick, the nest has a 50% chance of creating a cobweb next to itself, if there's no block in the way. Due to how it's placed, it will never make a cobweb beneath itself.

Spiders

A spider has a chance to spawn near the nest with the same chance as zombified piglins spawning at nether portals.
